
FRANKFORT, Mich. (WWJ) -- The body of a missing boater has been found in after his boat capsized Up North near Frankfort, in Lake Michigan.
The Benzie County Sheriff's Office said the 86-year-old victim was with another man aboard a 23 foot vessel at around when it started to take on water, at around 6 a.m. Thursday.
A Good Samaritan nearby rescued one boater, 59-year-old man, but they couldn't located the other man.
The U.S. Coast Guard responded to the area, about a mile west of the Frankfort pier, to search the waters. Fire and police agencies from multiple counties and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources helped in the search, involving boats and divers.
The body of the missing man, from Midland, was located at around 5 p.m., according to the Benzie County Sheriff’s Office.
The man's name has not been released, but the sheriff's office said his family has been notified.
