NOVI (WWJ) -- Residents in Novi and surrounding communities woke up to some better news on Friday: The Great Lakes Water Authority has successfully isolated a break in the 42-inch transmission line on 14 Mile Rd. near M-5.
Speaking live on WWJ Newsradio 950 early Friday, Novi spokesperson Sheryl Walsh-Molloy crews worked all through the night.
"We are super happy and thankful that our friends and partners at GLWA, along with our city department of public works team, have worked round the clock since this occurred yesterday morning and found a method to deliver service to the community, those that were left without water yesterday, overnight."
Officials said a Boil Water Advisory continues through at least Sunday for residents in Novi, Walled Lake, and Wixom (Specific areas included are in orange on the map below).

GLWA said water pressure for tens of thousands of affected residents has been restored, or should soon return. However, impacted residents should expect the pressure to continue to fluctuate over the next couple of days.
An outdoor water use restriction also remains in place in in these areas.
In the meantime, 14 Mile Rd. is closed to through traffic between Welch and M-5.
Walsh-Molloy said the root cause of the water main break is still unknown, and is still being investigated to repairs can begin.
"Crews were working yesterday and through the night just to isolate the 42-inch transmission main. And today our friends at GLWA will actually get down into the main, see what actually occurred," she said. "Our main focus over the last 24 hours was definitely isolation, and to find a service delivery method."
