CANTON (WWJ) -- A 32-year-old Canton man is facing multiple felony charges in connection with child sexual abuse material that was found online, according to the Michigan State Police.
Julio Cesar Maldonado was arrested following an investigation conducted by the MSP Computer Crimes Unit and the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.
The inquiry began after the ICAC Task Force received a referral from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) indicating that Maldonado may have been producing and manufacturing illicit content online.
Investigators then executed a search warrant at his Canton residence, where digital evidence was seized, according to MSP.
Maldonado faces the following charges:
- One count of second-degree criminal sexual conduct
- One count of aggravated child sexually abusive activity
- One count of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material
- Two counts of using a computer to commit a crime
Maldonado was arraigned Friday in Plymouth's 35th District Court.
