(WWJ) A Canton man faces criminal charges after a road rage incident Monday near Morton Taylor and Warren roads.

Investigators say Liam Rentz, 52, and another driver exchanged words and made threats before Rentz allegedly pulled out his gun.   Police were able to find Rentz in a nearby neighborhood.  He didn't have a valid permit to carry a gun in a vehicle and police found it in his home.

Police say Rentz was arraigned Wednesday on charges of carrying a concealed weapon and brandishing a firearm in public. He was issued a $5,000 10% cash bond. His next court date is May 30.

Canton Police put a message out asking all drivers to "remain calm and composed when faced with traffic frustrations."  They say if you encounter an aggressive driver:
• Avoid engaging or retaliating.
• Do not make eye contact or respond to insults or gestures.
• Get to a safe location and call 911 if you feel threatened.
• Drive to a public area or police station if you believe you're being followed.
