ROSEVILLE (WWJ) -- Michigan State Police are investigating a crash that took the life of a man in Roseville.
MSP says the incident happened at around 10:30 p.m. Sunday on eastbound I-94 near Little Mack Avenue.
Troopers were called to the scene after a driver reportedly hit a man who was standing in the middle lane of the freeway.
When troopers arrived on the scene, they found an approximately 30-year-old man deceased on the shoulder of the freeway. According to police, the driver of the car stopped at the scene and cooperated with the police.
The driver told police that she was traveling in the center lane when she eventually saw the man standing in the same lane.
The woman said that she tried to swerve out of the way in order to avoid hitting the man but was ultimately unable to prevent the collision.
Police said alcohol doesn't appear to be a factor in the crash.
The identity of the victim hasn't been released, pending notification of the family.
