DETROIT (WWJ)--For the second year, car enthusiasts will gather at Michigan Central Station in a celebration of classic vehicles. Cars at the Station will run Friday and Saturday, September 19th and 20th.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to come back for a second year at Michigan Central,” says event organizer Jiyan Cadiz. “It provides us one of the best backdrops that any car event in the country could have. It’s the future of mobility with the heritage of Detroit.”
Cadiz says more than a thousand vehicles have already registered for the event. It will run 4-9 PM on Friday and Saturday from 9 AM to 4 PM, and will also include music, technology, ride and drives and other amenities. But the focus will be on the variety of vehicles.
“It’s been a broad array of vehicles that have registered,” says Cadiz. “Everything from classic muscle to modern exotics, to–as I like to say–if you love your Fiat, your Ford Probe or your Ferrari, we have something for everyone.”

Cars at the Station is put on by Hagerty, which provides insurance for classic vehicles. But Hagerty also puts on auto shows and promotes the automotive enthusiast lifestyle.
Like the Woodward Dream Cruise, Cadiz says a wide variety of people can enjoy the vehicles on display at Cars at the Station, from pure enthusiasts, to those who just enjoy seeing vehicles from a different era.
“Cars at the Station is meant to be an on ramp to car culture, giving folks that maybe don’t know how to show up to car events that welcoming feeling, like, ‘Hey, I want to learn more and one day I hope to have a car of my own.”
