'Hit it, Charlie!': WWJ/FOX 2 News reporter Charlie Langton highlighted on Jimmy Kimmel Live over 'lit' Pot Day coverage in Detroit [VIDEO]

DETROIT (WWJ) - WWJ and FOX 2 News reporter Charlie Langton had a "high" time interviewing pot partakers on Detroit's west side celebrating 4/20, or Weed Day — and the comical coverage caught the attention of one big late-night talk show.

Jimmy Kimmel Live picked up the story by Langton, which was filmed outside the Detroit Herbal Center at 14325 Wyoming Ave. on Thursday, featuring a very "friendly" group of people lighting up in the parking lot.

The clip on YouTube begins around the 3:44 mark and goes until about 5:30.

"It's a beautiful thing man," one man said as Langton broke down in laughter. "Smoking on the news."

"Hit it, Charlie!" a woman said to Langton as he held a massive, almost footlong doobie.

In Michigan, smoking marijuana for recreational use is legal and Michiganders gathered across the state on April 20, or 4/20 which is the numerical code for smoking marijuana, to show their love of the plant by rolling up, lighting up and hitting up.

Kimmel called Langton's segment a "bong hitting report" and highlighted several points where the interviewees forgot what Langton asked while others flipped the switch and became the interviewer.

"Do you partake, Charlie,? one man asked.

"Well sometimes!" Langton laughed. "This is live television over here, my mother is watching!"

"I just hear you asking questions," the man replied.

Others gathered in the background were shrouded in a continuous cloud of smoke as the segment was filmed, with enough glassy eyes and big smiles to go around.

"Everyone is very friendly around here!" Langton said after another man began offering a jar of marijuana for people to take.

"You get weed, you get weed!" he said while passing it around.

Kimmel nodded in approval, stating, "that's right! That's how you make America great again."
