DETROIT (WWJ) - Police are investigating a drive by shooting that has left a child in the hospital.
The shooting took place on Sunday around 7:30 p.m. in the area of Beaconsfield and Courville Streets on Detroit’s east side. Police say an “unknown sedan drove by and someone inside fired shots, striking a child.”
The victim was “privately conveyed” to a local hospital and is listed in critical condition.
Detroit’s 9th Precinct Detective Unit is handling the investigation, which is ongoing. There is no information currently on the suspect, authorities said.
