MOUNT PLEASANT (WWJ) -- Add another Michigan university to the list of those requiring a mask as students return to class in the fall.
In a letter to the CMU community on Monday, University President Bob Davies said that students, faculty, and staffers must wear masks in class through at least the end of September.
CMU has become one of several universities and colleges across the state to take steps to slow the spread of COVID-19 as infection numbers are once again on the rise.
Other Michigan education institutions that have implemented similar mask policies -- as well as mandated vaccine requirements -- include the University of Michigan, Michigan State University, Oakland University, Wayne State University, Albion College, Kalamazoo College, Lawrence Tech, and U of D Mercy.
At this time, CMU is not yet ordering that students be vaccinated to be on campus.
