DETROIT (WWJ) -- Suddenly, that backyard landscaping project doesn’t look so daunting.
Crews are working hard to resod the outfield of Comerica Park after the grass was badly damaged during four concerts over the last two weeks.
WWJ’s Charlie Langton reports that six trucks, each containing 22 rolls of grass, traveled from Wisconsin to the downtown Detroit stadium over the last two days.
Ground crews will have to work quickly in order to get the new grass in place by Saturday, when the Detroit Tigers play the Oakland Athletics at home.
Since the beginning of July, Comerica Park has hosted concerts for Chris Stapleton, Billy Joel, the Stadium Tour featuring Mötley Crüe, Def Leppard, Poison and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, and Elton John.
