TROY (WWJ) -- A Rochester Hills man is facing drunken driving charges after his arrest last week in a fast food restaurant parking lot.
Just before 11 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 17, Troy Police were called to the Taco Bell on Dequindre Rd., just north of E. Long Lake Rd., for a welfare check.
Witnessed reported that a driver had been stopped in the drive-thru line for an extended period of time "for no apparent reason," police said.
As officers arrived at the scene to check on the driver, police said the man pulled into a parking space.
Officers spoke with the 37-year-old driver, noting that his eyes were "glazed over and bloodshot," according to the police report. The driver was asked to perform several sobriety evaluations, but reportedly performed poorly.
He then submitted to a preliminary breath test with a result of .13% and was arrested, police said.
At the Troy Police lock-up facility, results of a Chemical Breath Test read .12% and .11%.
The man was charged with Operating While Intoxicated (OWI). His name was not immediately released.
