DEERFIELD TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - A deadly crash in Livingston County has claimed the life of a 40-year-old Fenton resident early Friday morning, Michigan State Police confirmed.

Troopers said they were called out to the scene of a single-vehicle crash just after 1:30 a.m. at Major and Hogan roads located southwest of Fenton.

Initial reports claimed the driver, a 40-year-old man from Fenton, was ejected from his vehicle in the wreck, but troopers only said the crash "resulted in the death of the driver."

It remains unclear at this time why the crash occurred or if drugs, speed or alcohol were factors in the incident.
