Who killed Meempphis Cook? Crime Stoppers offering $2,500 reward for tips in Detroit teen's murder

DETROIT (WWJ) — The family of a 19-year-old Detroit man who was shot and killed last month is searching for answers.

Meempphis Cook was shot in front of a house on Wade Street — near Harper and Outer Drive on the city’s east side — when he was shot to death on Jan. 28, according to Crime Stoppers.

Circumstances surrounding the shooting have not been disclosed and no description of a suspect has been released. Detroit police have not released any information about the case.

This week officials with Crime Stoppers released photos of Cook, asking for help finding a suspect. A cash reward of up to $2,500 is being offered for tips that lead to an arrest.

Anyone who knows something about Cook’s murder is asked to call 1-800-SPEAK-UP. All Crime Stoppers tipsters will remain 100% anonymous.
