BENTON HARBOR (WWJ) - A special visit from one customer at a West Michigan café this week proved life-changing for one server when it came time to settle the bill.
"I'm crying, you're crying, we're all crying," the Mason Café said, located at 210 Water Street in Benton Harbor, said in a Facebook post after a customer left a staggering $10,000 tip.
On Monday, Feb. 5th, a man came into the café for breakfast and left the massive tip on a $32.43 bill.
"In a time where so much is happening, we wanted to share and thank the person who did this life changing act," they continued. " Things can feel real heavy sometimes, but this was such an amazing act to have seen first hand in our restaurant."
As reported by WOOD-TV, the customer came into town for a funeral and left the tip in honor of his late friend.
The server who received the tip then "spread the love" and split it with nine other employees.
“So to everyone doing what they can for themselves, and for others, we see you, thank you, and appreciate you. Keep sharing the love where you can folks,” the restaurant concluded in their post.
