DEARBORN HEIGHTS (WWJ) -- A Dearborn Heights man has been arraigned on assault and firearms charges after it's alleged he pointed a pneumatic rifle at two people, including a small child.
Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy on Monday announced the case against 63-uear-old Mark Denis Grzybowski, in connection with the alleged incident over the weekend.
According to investigators, the victims — a 31-year-old Detroit man and his 4-year-old son — were doing yardwork at a neighboring home in the 24000 block of Eton, when Grzybowski emerged from his house and threatened them with the weapon.
When Dearborn Heights Police officers responded, it's alleged that Grzybowski barricaded himself inside his home.
After a four-hour standoff involving multiple police agencies, Grzybowski came out of the house and was arrested.
Prosecutors noted that aspects of this case remain under review at this time.
Grzybowski has been charged with Carrying a Weapon with Unlawful Intent, Felony Firearm - Pneumatic Rifle, and two counts of misdemeanor Assault.
He was arraigned in 20th District Court Monday afternoon and was given a $50,000 cash bond with a GPS tether.
Grzybowski's next scheduled court date is a probable cause conference on May 8.
