DEARBORN (WWJ) - Officials at Dearborn Divine Child High School confirmed a wrestling coach is behind bars after police allege he was having an illicit relationship with a student.
In a statement released by the Metro Detroit school via Fox 2, the man was arrested on Friday by the Dearborn Police Department — his name has not been released by authorities due to pending charges.
School officials for Divine Child said they were concerned over the accusations and will work with police during their investigation.
"Divine Child High School is aware of an alleged incident that led to the arrest … We are very concerned about these allegations and are cooperating with authorities in their ongoing investigation. All questions at this time should be directed to the Dearborn Police Department."
The coach also teaches at Orchard Lake St. Mary's.
Charges are expected to be announced in a few days; no other information was immediately available.
