DETROIT (WWJ) -- Multiple violations of state law have lead to a local child care center having their license suspended.

The Michigan Department of Lifelong Education, Advancement, and Potential (MiLEAP) has suspended the child care center license of PBA Royal LLC, New Beginnings Child Care and Academy near the Southfield Freeway on the city's west side.

MiLEAP's Child Care Licensing Bureau says there were several violations of the Child Care Organizations Act; including failure to provide appropriate care or supervision, failure to cooperate with the investigation, and failure to provide accurate and truthful information to the Department. While merely suspended for now, MiLEAP issued a notice of intent to revoke the child care center license. The orders also require the operators to inform all parents of children in their care that the license has been suspended and that they can't provide child care.

"It was critical to take emergency action to protect the health, welfare and safety of the children at this child care center." MiLEAP said in a statement.
