DETROIT (WWJ) -- A Detroit Police officer is recovering after accidentally shooting himself in a bathroom at the Coleman A. Young building.
A DPD spokesperson, who confirmed the incident to WWJ Newsradio 950, said the officer was being treated at a local hospital after the shooting on Friday.
The spokesperson said officer who accidentally fired the shot was the only person injured.
The officer was last reported to be instable condition.
It's not yet clear how, exactly, this happened, and further information about the officer's injury was released.
The DPD is investigating, and the officer is on administrative duties until that investigation is complete.
