DETROIT (WWJ) — A Detroit father is behind bars for allegedly assaulting his infant daughter, leaving her with severe injuries.
Rmahn Denus–Elyjah Ja Bosnak was arraigned Sunday in 36th District Court on charges of first-degree child abuse and second-degree child abuse.
The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office says the 23-year-old allegedly assaulted his 3-month-old daughter at a home on Helen Street, near 8 Mile and Van Dyke on Detroit's east side.
The incident happened around 2 p.m. on Sept. 3, causing injuries to her head, neck and spine, according to the prosecutor's office.
Officials did not release any details surrounding the circumstances around the alleged assault.
Bosnak was given a $100,000 cash/surety bond with a GPS tether and house arrest. A bond redetermination hearing is scheduled for Tuesday and a probable cause hearing is scheduled for Sept. 17.
