DETROIT (WWJ) - Police in Detroit are investigating a deadly home invasion on the city's northwest side after a homeowner shot an alleged intruder.
Detroit police told WXYZ the alleged intruder, a man in his mid-30s, was known to the homeowner and have previously been at the residence before being asked to leave.
The man left, but returned later and tried to get into the home through a front window, police said.
The homeowner then fired multiple rounds, which hit and killed the man.
Police said they have detained the homeowner for further questioning.
The investigation remains active at this time -- no other details were released.
