ROSEVILLE (WWJ) -- A Detroit man is facing a long list of charges, accused of allegedly robbing people at gunpoint while dressed as a U.S. Marshal.
The Macomb County Prosecutor charged 55-year-old Tremain Jones with a total of 10 felonies -- including multiple counts of armed robbery, felony firearm and impersonating a peace officer to commit a crime.
According to prosecutors, the charges stem from an incident at the Victory Inn in Roseville where three people were reportedly robbed at gunpoint.
The MCPO said these are the maximum charges available under the law based upon the evidence presented to date.
“Robbing someone at gunpoint is a serious and frightening crime, and allegedly disguising yourself as a federal law enforcement officer to carry it out makes these accusations particularly disturbing,” said Macomb County Prosecutor Pete Lucido, in a statement. "My office will continue to hold accountable those who use threats and violence to victimize others."
Jones' bond was set at $750,000 following his arraignment on Sept. 25.
If Jones does post bond, he is ordered to have no contact with the Victory Inn, or the victims and must wear a steel cuff tether.
