DETROIT (WWJ) A Detroit man was charged with First Degree Murder in connection to the fatal Valentine's Day shooting of his girlfriend on the city's west side.
Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy charged Desuan Ross, 31, in the death of Eboni Robinson, 29 of Detroit.
Detroit Police said the shooting happened less than a block away from Mumford High School on Washburn at Santa Clara, in the area of McNichols and the Lodge. Their officers were called to the scene around 8:59 a.m. Friday, February 14, for a reported shooting.
When they arrived; they found the victim's vehicle crashed into the porch of a home on the other side of the street. She was still inside, with multiple gunshot wounds, police said.
Medics pronounced Robinson dead at the scene.
Police said Robinson and Ross got into an argument inside her car. It escalated, and he got out of the vehicle and allegedly fired a handgun into the driver's side window, striking her.
He is also accused of firing a rifle multiple times into that same window, killing her; police said.
In addition to First Degree Murder, prosecutors charged Ross with Felony Firearm.
He was arraigned on Sunday and remanded to jail. He is due back in court on February 24th for a Probable Cause Conference and on March 3rd for a Preliminary Examination.
