DETROIT (WWJ) -- A Detroit man has been charged in the deadly shooting of a janitor outside a Detroit elementary school.
At around 5:15 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, Detroit police responded to Chrysler Elementary School, located on E. Lafayette Street on the city's east side, for a reported shooting.
Officers found the victim on the ground, with a gunshot wound to the chest.
The victim — identified as 25-year-old Devin Burns, who worked as a janitor at the school — was taken to hospital where he died.
Investigators said Burns and the alleged shooter, Kevin Flagg were arguing before Flagg pulled out a handgun and shot the other man.
Flagg, 43, is charged with second-degree murder, manslaughter and felony firearm.
He remains held on a $150,000 cash/surety bond, with his next court date, a Probable Cause Conference, scheduled for July 20.
Officials have not said how two two men knew each other what they may have been arguing about.
Flagg faces up to life in prion of he's convicted as charged.
