FERNDALE (WWJ) – A Detroit man is facing felony charges for allegedly slamming a car into a Ferndale marijuana dispensary and robbing the store over the weekend.
It happened around 4:45 a.m. Friday at STIIIZY Ferndale, located on 9 Mile near Hilton, according to Ferndale Police.
Officers were called to the pot shop after an alarm went off that morning. When they showed up they found a car backed into the front door of the store.
As they approached the scene, the suspects fled from the scene, police officials said Saturday.
Stevonte Gilbert-Davis, 24, was eventually arrested and arraigned Saturday in 43rd District Court on one felony count each of breaking and entering a building with intent and larceny in a building.
He was given a $200,000 cash bond and his next court appearance has been scheduled for Dec. 11.
While police officials said multiple suspects ran from the scene, it was not clear if any other arrests have been made or if police are still searching for other suspects.
