Detroit man seriously injured after crashing stolen motorcycle on I-375

DETROIT (WWJ) A Detroit man is hospitalized with "serious injuries" from crashing a stolen motorcycle, Michigan State Police said.

In a statement on X; Michigan State Police Second District said Metro South troopers were on a traffic stop when they saw a group of motorcyclists drive by at "a high rate of speed" on southbound I-75 at Ferry.


After troopers cleared the stop, they found a crashed motorcycle on southbound I-375 at Jefferson on Saturday around 10:45. p.m. The driver was lying in the roadway. The rest of the motorcyclists left the scene as troopers arrived, State Police said.

Witnesses told police the motorcyclists were speeding when one of the drivers lost control. A Detroit man, 34, was taken to the hospital.

Further investigation revealed the motorcycle was stolen out of Jackson. The investigation is ongoing.
