DETROIT (WWJ) — Detroit police are asking for help tracking down the gunman in a drive-by shooting last week that left a 20-year-old man dead.
The shooting happened around 1:20 p.m. on Thursday, July 18, on Omira Street, near I-75 and 8 Mile road on the city’s northwest side, according to Detroit police.
Authorities say the driver of a blue sedan was heading south on Omira when they fired multiple shots, hitting Trevion Ward multiple times.
First responders rendered aid, but Ward was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police previously said Ward was sitting on the porch of a home and multiple people, including children, were standing outside at the time of the shooting, according to a prior report from WDIV.
Officials have not released any information on a possible motive in the shooting.
