HARPER WOODS (WWJ) -- A detective in the Detroit Police Department has been suspended after she was charged with drunken driving and having a gun while intoxicated.

Harper Woods Police said 32-year old Lariah Stevens of Clinton Township was arraigned on the charges last week, nearly three weeks after her car crashed near East Vernier and Beaconsfield.

Investigators said Stevens was driving the wrong way on Vernier when it crashed into another vehicle. There were no serious injuries.

Stevens was arraigned on the charges Sept. 30 in 32-A District Court. She was released on a $1,000 personal bond with the conditions that she does not drink or use drugs, and does not posses a gun.

Detroit police said they are reviewing the matter and if the Stevens violated the law or department policy, she'll be held accountable.

Stevens is scheduled to appear in court for a pretrial hearing on Oct. 26.
