Police investigating death of 6-month old baby on Detroit's east side

DETROIT (WWJ) -- Detroit police are investigating an infant death of a 6-month-old that happened overnight.

First responders were called around 3 a.m. to a home on the 18000 block of Fenelon Street between Mound and Ryan roads on Detroit’s northeast side, where a young child was reportedly not breathing.

The baby was found unresponsive in the home, and the mother was present at the time.

The Detroit Fire Department rushed the child to a hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

Detroit police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the child’s death.
