Detroit police investigating after pedestrian is killed in hit-and-run on city's east side

DETROIT (WWJ) -- Detroit police are investigating a deadly hit-and-run crash, early Wednesday morning on the city's east side.

According to a spokesperson for the Detroit Police Department, an unidentified pedestrian was found dead just after 4 a.m. at Mack Ave. and Conner St.

Police said it was clear that the man had been hit by a car, and that the driver responsible had fled the scene.

There's no description of any suspect vehicles as this time.

Police are working to gather more information about the case.
