
DETROIT (WWJ) — The search is on for the suspect in a drive-by shooting last weekend on Detroit’s east side that left a man hospitalized.
It happened just before 2 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 16 in the area of E. Outer Drive and Van Dyke, according to the Detroit Police Department.
The suspect was driving a dark colored, older model SUV when they opened fire, hitting the 21-year-old driver of a gray Chevy Malibu.
DPD officials have not said why the suspect fired shots and a possible motive in the case is unclear.
The victim was taken to the hospital, but officials did not disclose his condition.
DPD officials on Thursday released photos of the suspect’s SUV in a gas station parking lot shortly after the shooting.
Authorities are asking anyone who recognizes the SUV or knows something about the shooting to call DPD’s 11th Precinct at 313-596-1140, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-Speak Up, or submit a tip online at DetroitRewards.tv.
