DETROIT (WWJ) — Police are searching for a man who allegedly broke into and robbed a spa on Detroit's east side last week.

It happened just before midnight on Wednesday, Oct. 16 at a spa on Gratiot near McNichols, according to Detroit police.

Authorities say around 11:45 p.m. that night the suspect pulled up in a silver Chrysler Town & Country minivan with damage to the passenger side.

The suspect broke into the spa and stole multiple items, according to police. Authorities did not identify the spa and did not specify what type of items were taken or how much they were worth.

Police describe the man as "clean shaven" and say he was last seen wearing a black jacket with a gray hood that had black and white writing on it, as well as a dark colored zip-up hooded sweatshirt, black pants and black shoes.

The police department on Monday released a photo of the suspect, asking anyone who recognizes him or the minivan, or has information about the alleged robbery to call the Detroit Police Department's 9th Precinct at 313-596-5940.
