The Detroit Police Department said the woman dialed 911 around 10:30 a.m. and said she was suffering from a mental health crisis.

When cops arrived at the residence in the 9000 block of Burt Road near Dover Avenue, the woman waved a firearm before shutting herself inside.

Residents in the surrounding community were given a shelter-in-place order as officials worked the scene.

Officials said in the press release that the Detroit Police Department’s Crisis Intervention Team teamed up with mental health experts and negotiators, who brought the situation to a peaceful end around 2:45 p.m. Thursday afternoon.

The woman was taken to a local hospital and is currently undergoing mental health treatment.

Police said there were no injuries and they recovered two weapons from the home.

"Thank you to the Special Response Team, Crisis Intervention Team, officers of the 6th Precinct, and all others involved for their work to bring this situation to a peaceful end," the Detroit Police said on social media.
