DETROIT (WWJ) - The Detroit Police Department announced officers made 14 felony arrests in a large-scale operation that took multiple guns and drugs off the street.

The effort -- called Operation Restore Order -- involved the department's Special Operations teams from the city's East side precincts and ran from Jan. 27 to Jan. 28.

The operation seized 60 grams of crack cocaine, 30 packs of suspected heroin, 50 pills, four firearms and $20,000 in cash.

Fourteen felony arrests were made -- six of which included Carrying a Concealed Weapon.
Police Chief James White celebrated the operation's success in a press release, thanking the officers for their hard work in keeping Detroit safe.
“Detroiters can sleep easier tonight knowing several dangerous individuals, drugs and weapons have been taken off the street thanks to the courageous work of the men and women of the Detroit Police Department," said White.
The work of Detroit police officers is made possible by tips from the community, the department reminded.
