Woman arrested for domestic assault on Detroit freeway after boyfriend crashes car

DETROIT (WWJ) -- A woman was arrested for domestic assault after she got upset with her boyfriend for crashing her car.

At around 7 p.m. Thursday, Michigan State Police responded to a one-car crash at southbound I-75 near 2nd Street in Detroit.

After completing the crash investigation and leaving the scene, MSP was advised about a domestic incident on the freeway that matched the description of the vehicle that just crashed.

Troopers said they were able to find the vehicle on I-75 near Grand River Avenue.

An investigation on the scene revealed that the 38-year-old female passenger allegedly assaulted the male driver because she was upset that he crashed her vehicle.

The victim suffered multiple lacerations to his face but refused medical treatment.

The incident is pending prosecutor review for domestic assault while the woman is lodged at the detention center.
