DETROIT (WWJ) -- A Detroit woman who is charged with stabbing her dog and then posting about it on social media faces close to a decade in prison if convicted.

According to the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office, 29-year-old Jordan Love is accused of stabbing the dog several times in the torso at her home on the city's east side, the afternoon of February 7.

She also allegedly posted a video of the injured dog before fleeing the state.

Police tracked Love to Greenville, South Carolina just over a month later, and she was extradited back to Michigan this week.

Love is charged with Torturing and Killing Animals, with a maximum sentence of seven years; and Abandoning or Cruelty of four to ten animals, which carries up to two years behind bars.

Officers also found three other dogs and four cats in the suspect's home.

Authorities said the wounded dog did survive the attack.

Love was scheduled to be arraigned in 36th District Court on Thursday.
