DETROIT (WWJ) – Michigan State Police are investigating after a deadly pedestrian crash during the early morning hours of July 29.
The crash happened at approximately 12:21 a.m. on eastbound M-8 (Davison Freeway) near Oakland Ave in the City of Detroit.
Investigators say an adult woman from the City of Detroit was on the freeway when she got hit by a passing car. The woman ran onto the freeway before she was hit. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Troopers say they are still investigating why she ran into the freeway. They have not released any identifying information at this time.
All lanes of eastbound M-8 reopened around 4 a.m.
Michigan State Police Spl/LT. Ty Howard said “we appreciate the public’s patience while troopers conducted their on scene investigation.”
The investigation remains ongoing. MSP says they will release more information as it becomes available.
