DETROIT (WWJ) — Downtown Detroit's very own summer oasis and beach bar is making its return to Campus Martius later this month, officials announced on Tuesday.
Elia Group, who also runs the Cadillac Lodge in Cadillac Square during the winter months, is bringing in the summer vibes after announcing their BrisaBar will reopen on Thursday, May 18.
An oasis in the middle of an urban jungle, the BrisaBar will not only offer refreshing food and beverages, such as beer, pop and other tropical drinks, but a live DJ on Friday and Saturday nights — as well as during Sunday brunch.
"The return of BrisaBar is yet another reason to visit Campus Martius Park, the No. 1 public square in the U.S., this summer," said David Cowan, chief public spaces officer for the Downtown Detroit Partnership. "We're proud to partner with Elia Group throughout the year and our placemaking work in Downtown Detroit is even more successful because of iconic culinary experiences like BrisaBar."
The beach bar will also host movie nights free of charge on Wednesday evenings.
The BrisaBar will open from 11 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Sunday through Wednesday to serve lunch, happy hour and dinner. From Thursday through Saturday, the bar will operate from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
For happy hour, guests will be welcomed from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Zaid Elia, founder and CEO of Elia Group and its portfolio of hospitality businesses, the Iconic Collection, expressed excitement for the return of the BrisaBar and transform the heart of Downtown Detroit into a space for all to enjoy.
