(WWJ) "You know what's scarier than Halloween? People not voting! And those who are trying to frighten people into not voting."
State Attorney General Dana Nessel is urging Michiganders not to be scared off by "tricksters" trying to suppress the vote in the upcoming election.
In a spooky-themed video message posted to social media Wednesday, Nessel appears in a Halloween costume to deliver a serious message in a fun way.
The AG says there are people trying to scare Michiganders away from voting, -- telling them their voting information will be improperly shared, that their vote won't be correctly tabulated, or that they can't trust the results of the election.
"Not of which are true," Nessel says, "and all of which are scare tactics by people who just don't want you to vote."
"So. don't get tricked!" she adds. "Your vote is safe and secure in Michigan."
Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, 2020.
