LINCOLN PARK (WWJ) A Downriver man was charged with Assault With Intent to Murder and additional crimes for allegedly stabbing a woman at a Lincoln Park Dunkin' Donuts.
Jaydee Durden, 23, of Lincoln Park was also charged with Assault with Intent to Do Great Bodily Harm and Felonious Assault. The charges were brought by Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy.
According to the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office; police learned of the attack at the Dunkin' on Dix near Goddard on Tuesday, January 6, around 10:27 a.m. At the scene; officers found a woman, 33, with "multiple stab wounds" to her arm and right leg.
Prosecutors said the suspect approached the woman and stabbed her with a knife before running away from the scene. Authorities said Lincoln Park officers arrested him shortly after the attack.
There's no word on a motive for the attack, and Lincoln Park Police told the Detroit Free Press that it appeared to be "random."
At last check, the victim was in stable condition, according to police.
Durden is due back in court for a probable cause conference on Tuesday, January 13. He's slated to face the judge for a preliminary exam on January 20.
