
WYANDOTTE (WWJ) -- A Downriver school employee is facing charges after he allegedly engaged in inappropriate sexual conduct with a student.
Police said they were notified on Apr. 19. by the Wyandotte Public School District about potential misconduct from one of their employees, Ronnie James Sheeler.
Further investigation uncovered the necessary evidence needed to arrest the 31-year-old.
WDIV reports that Sheeler was arrested on Apr. 22 and arraigned on charges of third-degree criminal sexual conduct and fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct.
School officials declined to comment because the investigation is ongoing but they confirmed that Sheeler no longer works for the district.
According to police, he is being held on a personal bond.
Sheeler will be back in court on May 5.
