Homicide detectives investigating after tipsters say 2 bodies found at MGM Grand Detroit casino

DETROIT (WWJ) -- The Detroit Police Department's homicide division is investigating after witnesses say the bodies of two victims were found at the MGM Grand Detroit casino.

An anonymous tipster, who only identified themselves as someone who worked at the casino, called into WWJ on Wednesday stating the two bodies were discovered inside a room at the hotel, located at 1777 3rd Ave in Detroit.

The Detroit PD confirmed with they are actively investigating an incident involving two deceased victims in the 1700 block of Third Street in the 3rd precinct area, but stated they would not confirm the exact location.

Police said officers were called to the scene around 11:20 a.m. on Tuesday, December 19. The two victims, one man and one woman, remain unidentified.

It's not yet clear how the people died, or if there was any foul play.

"Circumstances regarding this incident are actively being investigated by our homicide division," officials stated.
