Detroit man living with mental illness still missing after last seen leaving his home in April

DETROIT (WWJ) - Authorities searching for a missing 66-year-old man with Schizophrenia are seeking help from the public after he disappeared near his Detroit home in April and hasn't been seen since.

The Detroit Police Department said Daniel Abbott went missing on Friday, April 29th around 10:13 a.m. after he was last spotted leaving his home in the 9300 block of Patton.

At the time of his disappearance, he was known to be wearing a gray sweat and blue jeans.

Authorities were told by Abbott's sister that he is diagnosed with Schizophrenia.

Abbott is described by police as a white male standing 5' 11" and weighing 160 lbs. He has brown eyes and grey-brown hair. He has no known identifying marks or tattoos that police are aware of.
