DETROIT (WWJ) - Tuesday morning will start with a bang for residents in the Rouge Park area after officials announced they will be setting off munitions at a designated location on Detroit's west side.

Authorities with the Detroit Police Department said they will be working in Rouge Park near Joy Road and Lahser starting at 9 a.m. Tuesday morning.

They've asked the public not be to alarmed if they hear loud noises coming from the park and have thanked the public for their patience and cooperation.

No timeframe was provided for when police would be finished, but residents can expect noises throughout the day.
