ESCORSE (WWJ) -- An investigation is underway after a shooting at an apartment complex Downriver left one person injured.
WWJ's Mike Campbell reports that the situation happened Tuesday night at the Renaissance Estates of Ecorse near Hyacinthe and 9th streets.
One victim sustained injuries in what is being described by authorities as a drive-by shooting. The person was taken to the hospital, though their condition remains unknown.
A neighbor who lives in the apartments says that parties happen often in the complex, and that the area can often feel unsafe.
"If our kids are here, [they're] in danger," she tells Mike Campbell. "We have little kids that play out here every day, it's dangerous…I really want to move from here."
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
