NORTHVILLE TWP. (WWJ) -- The driver of a car that crashed into a semi truck in Northville Township on Monday is being treated for critical injuries at a local hospital.
Northville Township police said the crash happened at around 1 p.m. on President's Day, along at Five Mile Road between Beck and Ridge roads.
A preliminary investigation found that driver of a small sedan crossed the center line into oncoming traffic, and collided with a semi.
The sedan driver was extricated from the car by Northville Township firefighters and was rushed to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said.
The truck driver was not injured and is cooperating with investigators.
Police said there is no evidence at this time that drugs or alcohol were a factor, although an investigation by Northville Township Police with help from Michigan State Police is ongoing.
The name and other details about the injured person were not immediately released.
