ECORSE (WWJ) -- One person is at the hospital after driving a car into the Detroit River Friday morning.
According to Ecorse Fire Chief Franklin Hayes, the vehicle went into the water at the Ecorse Boat launch, near W. Jefferson Ave. in Ecorse.
Police and fire responded, along with the Downriver Dive Team.
The driver was pulled out and was taken to a local hospital. Their condition is not known at this time.
It's still unclear how it happened, and no information about the person has been released.
The chief said the investigation is ongoing, and he was waiting to learn more.
