(WWJ) Authorities say alcohol is believed to have been a factor in a deadly crash in Monroe County, early Friday morning.
The Monroe County Sheriff's Office says a 36-year-old Toledo woman died when the Honda Civic she was a passenger in crashed into the back of an SUV that had broken down on Telegraph Road near Stearns in Bedford Township, near the Michigan-Ohio border.
Police said the hazard lights on the GMC Sierra were activated in flashing mode at the time of the crash.
Two other people — the 31-year-old Toledo mam who was driving he Sierra, and a 41-year-old Toledo woman's who was in the backdeat of the Civic — were injured. They remained hospitalized later Friday in stable and critical condition respetively.
Police said the 23-year-old Toledo woman who was driving the Civic is believed to have been driving drunk/
She was arrested at the scene and lodged in the Monroe County Jail. Her name is being withheld pending an arraignment.
