TROY (WWJ) -- A Macomb County man is facing a drunken driving charge in Oakland County, after police say they caught him peeing outside his pickup truck in Troy.
At around 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 16, Troy Police responded to the area of southbound I-75 and Crooks Rd. on a report of a possible drunk driving who was swerving and driving on the shoulder in a 1995 Ford F-150.
When officers found the suspect vehicle, it was stopped on the right shoulder south of Big Beaver Road. According to the police report: "Officers observed the driver, a 66-year-old male from Roseville, urinating outside the vehicle."
When officers spoke with the man, they said they noticed he smelled like booze. The man was then asked to perform several sobriety evaluations, which he did, but performed poorly, police said.
After the man tested at .094% BAC (blood alcohol concentration) on a preliminary breath test, he was arrested and taken to the Troy Police lock-up.
Police said the man was read his Chemical Test Rights and agreed to submit to a Chemical Breath Test with results of .094% and .099% — which is over the legal limit to drive in Michigan (.08%).
The driver was issued a citation for Operating While Intoxicated (OWI). His name was not immediately released.
