EASTPOINTE (WWJ) – Police believe they have found the body of a 47-year-old Eastpointe woman who was last seen four months ago.
Samantha Guinther was last seen in mid-June and was officially reported missing on Sept. 18, according to WDIV.
On Wednesday officials said the case has evolved into a case of possible homicide, as investigators found what is believed to be Guinther's body in a storm drain near her last known address near Stephens and Hayes Roads.
Eastpointe police officials told WWJ on Wednesday that officers, along with help from the Michigan State Police Crime Lab, executed a search warrant at Guinther's last known address, which led to the arrests of two people they are calling "persons of interest" in Guinther's disappearance.
Authorities did not release any information about those in custody.
Other circumstances surrounding Guinther's disappearance have not been disclosed.
