Elderly Highland Township man vanishes after walking dog

HIGHLAND TWP. (WWJ) The Oakland County Sheriff is asking for tips from the public to bring home an elderly man, who was last seen walking his dog.

John Sewell, 79, was last seen around 9 a.m. Saturday near his home in Highland Township. A more specific location was not given. His vehicle is gone. His family said he has dementia and should not be driving.

"We are asking for the public’s help in locating Mr. Sewell," Sheriff Michael Bouchard said. “I encourage anyone who may have seen his vehicle or someone matching his description to call local law enforcement."

Sewell drives a white 2016 Honda Odyssey van with Michigan license plate 419 7L8. The vehicle has a decal of Jesus on the rear.

He is described as 5’6” and 170 lbs, with black-grey hair.
